RiggerSafe® for Saudi Oil & Gas and EPC Construction
A task-first approach to suspended-load guidance, final positioning and procurement.

The final approach deserves its own review
A pipe spool approaches a connection. A pump is lowered towards its base. A precast element nears its landing support. Each task can tempt a worker to replace a planned control with a quick hand correction. Start by observing exactly what the hand is doing and why.
The Saudi RiggerSafe® application is particularly relevant to oil and gas maintenance, EPC installation, construction yards and industrial fabrication. These are application scenarios, not a statement that every operator or contractor has approved the product.
Guidance is a different function from lifting
A crane, hoist or other approved lifting system supports the load. A push/pull tool provides a contact interface for an assessed guidance task. It is not a lifting accessory, a lever for forcing a trapped component, or permission to enter the load path.
Taglines and rigid tools address different aspects of control. A suitable tagline can manage orientation from an appropriate working position; a rigid interface may help with a particular final approach. The lifting plan determines which method is appropriate.
Oil and gas: start with pipe, pumps and maintenance
Assess pipe-spool guidance, tubular landing, valve or pump positioning and workshop impact tasks separately. The tool that guides a tubular is not automatically the tool that holds a punch. Record diameter, geometry, surface, support method and available space.
For shutdown work, include isolation, stored energy and stable support in the review before considering a hand-held interface. A longer tool cannot compensate for an unsafe work position.
EPC construction: include concrete contact
Rough concrete and precast surfaces make contact material a meaningful selection question. The aluminium-insert RiggerSafe® option is intended for a durable interface where abrasive contact is the priority. Evaluate grip, surface effect, working force and release before specifying the variant.
A non-marring option may suit finished surfaces better. Do not select an insert solely by colour or assume that fixed inserts can be exchanged in the field.
HADEED approval: keep the product reference precise
RiggerSafe® has HADEED approval. Ask PSC for the applicable approval reference and product configuration for your submission. Keep the distinction between a named product approval and the wider catalogue clear.
The project’s lifting and HSE teams should still assess the selected length, fixed insert, working space and method. A procurement reference supports the submission; it does not replace task review.
Write a functional requirement before a purchase order
A useful enquiry states the task, the intended stand-off function, the load contact surface, length and head requirements, inspection needs and trial criteria. Attach the current datasheet and identify the model being proposed.
Where alternatives are permitted, compare the actual material, geometry, engagement, reach and documentation against the project requirement. The project technical authority decides acceptance.
A practical trial sequence
Observe the work and identify the hand function. Review elimination, mechanical support and changes to the method. Select a candidate interface, brief the team and carry out a controlled trial in the planned working position.
Check engagement, release, visibility, posture, abrasion and any new exposure. Record what worked, what did not and the configuration actually tested. Only then move towards a standard tool requirement.
