PSC tool application illustrating the working interface

PSC / HSF application guidance · 15 October 2026

Describe the task before the product

Tell the supplier whether the worker is guiding a suspended load, handling a pipe, holding a struck tool or retrieving an object. Include the component, movement, contact point, working space and current method.

This avoids treating every hands-free tool as a generic push/pull stick. Guidance, holding, retrieval and lifting require different interfaces and documentation.

Make the configuration reviewable

Specify product name, proposed length, colour if required by the site, fixed contact insert, operating conditions and intended action. For concrete contact, identify the aluminium-insert option under review.

For RiggerSafe® technical submissions, request the HADEED approval reference where relevant. The supplier should confirm the applicable configuration and available documentation.

Set trial acceptance criteria

The site team should agree what a successful trial means: controlled engagement and release, a suitable operator position, clear visibility, manageable posture and reduced need for direct hand contact.

Assess the remaining exposure and any new hazards. A tool trial is part of the site’s method review, rather than a replacement for it.

Keep commercial and technical questions together

Provide quantities, destination, required date and preferred reseller. Confirm packaging, freight, availability and commercial terms in the quotation.

Ask for the current datasheet, inspection guidance and any relevant product approval reference so procurement and the operating team evaluate the same configuration.

Technical context

Adapted from the supplied Saudi RiggerSafe® article and Saudi market guide, with the construction insert and reseller details supplied by PSC. Geographic industry context is linked on the sources page. The Last 300 mm Rule™ is an HSF observation concept, not a prescribed safe distance or regulatory standard.
